Lt. Douglas Ladd (ret)
Lt. Douglas Ladd (ret) is a national presenter on subjects related to active threat recognition and personal safety. His trainings emphasize the simple pre-planning thought processes that help individuals quickly recognize and react to emergency situations. Participants in Doug’s classes learn to be proactive when confronted by threatening situations, building on the fundamentals of Run-Hide-Fight. Doug’s leadership in threat assessment stems from his 25 years with the Oregon State Police where he held various roles in Patrol, Major Crimes, the Gang Unit, and as Station Commander (Roseburg). In addition to his extensive hands-on law enforcement experience, Doug has taught various leadership classes through the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST). Doug has significant knowledge and experience understanding when and how to employ situational leadership for organizational success.Doug was a member of the OSP Honor Guard for 23 years, 10 as Commander, and served 13 years on the OSP Mobile Response Team. He is a founding board member of the Oregon Fallen Badge Foundation, Vice Chair of Douglas CARES Board of Directors, Executive Board Secretary of the WOU Alumni Board of Directors, Greater Oregon Chapter Secretary of ASIS International, and a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. Doug is currently Director of Security for Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville, OR, continuing to provide active threat and employee safety training for all affiliated Umpqua Indian Development Corporation businesses and the Cow Creek government.
